A gifted dancer and accomplished percussionist, Alda brings unparalleled knowledge and enthusiasm for the folk traditions of Mexico to every performance. As an educator, her experience and compassion have been valued by many arts organizations, teachers and students. Creating a productive environment that encourages all participants to feel engaged has been a vital part of her teaching and performing philosophy. It is her mission to enrich children’s learning through dance, and to demonstrate that the arts are vital for learning, and for people’s lives.

Alda has been part of the ArtsConnection family since 2000, creating and customizing weekly residencies culminating in performances by the students.
