How ArtsConnection Is Different
We embrace all disciplines—dance, theater, visual arts, media and music—and partner with elementary, middle and high schools across all five boroughs to integrate the arts into students’ overall learning and development.
We maintain an intensive focus on creating successful partnerships. A dedicated program manager is assigned to each school project, working one-on-one with school administrators, teachers and our own teaching artists to ensure productive, collaborative relationships targeting specific educational goals that contribute to student learning.
Model Approach to Learning
Planning, inquiry, and reflection are essential aspects of all our work. We model this approach on work with our partner schools, facilitating reflection and inquiry, and seeking an exchange of ideas at all levels to constantly pursue excellence.
Focus on Research
ArtsConnection’s longstanding commitment to research and evaluation has helped define the role and contribution of the arts in student learning, exemplified by the organization’s six major research grants from the U.S. Department of Education—recognition unprecedented in the field of arts education.
